It’s with great excitement that we announce that this year’s annual charity golf tournament was our most successful to date! With a record 45 players registered and a grand total of $2485 raised towards Anna’s fight against cancer we can’t help but say enough thanks to all involved.
With some nice fall weather, good company and lots of laughs we hoped that everyone had an amazing time hitting the links and finishing with eats for such a worthy cause. Every year we try and up the ante for local causes that hit close to home and we’re so thrilled that this event was an astounding success.
Of course we could never pull off such an event without the likes of the people who volunteer their time to help organize it and most importantly those who sponsor the event with prize donations. Without our sponsors, plain and simple, no fun is had and no money raised so thank you! I’m writing this as a personal post of how proud I am to be associated with this league and all of it’s members. Most of us may be old and slow or young and slow but when the time presents itself, you all shine your hockey hearts bright. After another successful Hockeylife Annual Charity Golf Classic, we were able to raise our biggest total ever at $1340!! This money will go directly to the family of Brayden to help pay for any related costs, medical supplies and therapies not covered under our health care system. As a Father, like many others in this league your gestures were heart warming; whether it was through donating of items for the auction/raffle or donating money directly to the cause, you all played a big part in the success of this years goals and the future of this young boy. It’s true what they say, hockey players do have the biggest hearts.

A dominating season has led to another championship for the men in black. The Fitzray’s Flyers posted a league leading 8 wins on the season and fought their way to claim a 3rd Moosehead Cup bringing them into a tie with First General London (formerly STS).
Season Awards:
Vezina: Steve Wild posted an impressive 3.00 GAA and only allowing 27 GA. (Runner-up: Matt Davis)
Rocket Richard, Hart, Isaac Newton Awards: Jeff Baxter dominated the league winning all categories in the offensive category with 16G 17A and 33PTS.
Top Free Agent Award: Chris Down who posted an admirable 1.17 with 3G and 4A in 6GP.
Congratulations to Captain Jr. Gluchowski on his team’s epic rise to cup champions! #1 Tapesht GM in the league for sure!
The return to form by the PAW dynasty can be summed up by their incredible 1st place regular season stats:

DJ Khaled Award for All I do is win: Gary Walker, John Thompson and Jeff Baxter for sporting the best win percentage with a 70.0% (minimum 10 games played)
Top Free Agent Award: Perennial winner Kevin Overholt with a sexy 20Pts.
It was another year of slices, hooks, slips, trips and falls and of course a few Happy Gilmore’s. Another successful charity golf tournament at Twin Streams Golf Course in Delaware, ON.
$1050 was raised and goes straight to itsy charity to help out families with premature babies and the financial struggles with its associated costs. A huge thank you goes out to all of sponsors for making all of it possible and for all the great lads who came out to play and support a great cause.
What a season! A new champion and keeper of the Moosehead Cup has emerged. Congratulations to Captain Cody Inglis and his band of speedy little bastards on their epic 5-1 win over Captain Joe Snook and the ABT gang.

The on ice battles intensified in the quest for cup during the 2015 winter season. The level of play has been officially stepped up with team’s gelling quicker and playing better than ever. During this season’s playoffs team PAW pulled up a double upset in rounds 1 and 2, knocking out ABT and STS respectively while cup favourites FRP cruised to another finals birth. The deciding game was close up until FRP burst in with 2 unanswered goals midway through the game and PAW just couldn’t chase any longer. Congratulations to the entire FRP squad on retaining their beloved Moosehead Cup.

Another HL season has come to an end with some familiar faces breaking through the league leaders categories. The number one stopper of pucks goes to the best bearded man in HL, Nico Loberto holding out with a 3.45 GAA and an impressive save percentage of .818! Leading the league in ginos is the man who always “plays well” Jeff Baxter putting up an impressive 22 goals, 41 points and an even more impressive 3.42 PPG. When it comes to helpers you know what they say, “an apple a day keeps the splinters away” and the best in the biz is John “Tye Dye” Holman with his chart topping 20 assists on the season. When it comes to super spares look no further than Chris “The Boss” Goss and Kevin “I’m so better than Amber” Overholt as this seasons top free agents with 14 points each. Congratulations goes out to Captain Andy Sparks and his Fitzrays Premier Team on winning the last Moosehead Cup of 2014!
